Wasp
Whether she's stinging bad guys or designing awesome new outfits, Wasp has got great big talents to go with her tiny body.
Janet Van Dyne was born a wealthy and self-centered heiress, her father the great scientist Vernon Van Dyne. One day, one of her fathers experiments went too far, resulting in his death, and Janet turned to her father's associate, Dr. Hank Pym, for help. He gave her Pym particles to shrink her and subjected her to a procedure to grow wings upon shrinking. Later on, she learned to harness her body's bio-electrical current to fire blasts of energy at foes. She went on to become a founding member of the Avengers alongside Dr. Pym, or Ant-Man, and as remained with the team almost constantly, either in active or reserve status. |

Mission StrengthsWasp is a darting melee powerhouse. You may not see her, but you'll easily see the yellow trail and the piles of defeated enemies she leaves in her wake. Janet's combo is mixed: all her moves are melee except for her third, which is a quick series of ranged shots. She is a skirmisher, like Rescue, and attacks with mild knockback in a back-and-forth pattern which makes her harder to hit. All of her Power Attacks are useful: the P1 is a bioelectric sting that stuns an enemy; the P2 (her party trick) temporarily shrinks a foe, reducing damage given while increasing damage taken; and the P3 is a left-to-right-to-left flurry which punishes the enemies directly in front of her and culminates in a knockdown. Her Hero Up attack is a midair spin, radiating bioelectric energy in all directions, which hits multiple times and causes knockdown. It looks lovely and is great fun to use -- which is a fair summary of the Wasp herself, really.
Mission WeaknessesLike all melee heroes, Wasp must get close to enemies to take them down. This makes her vulnerable to bosses, especially those with area attacks. Her HU, amazing as it is, comes with the drawback of a second or two of stun while Wasp recovers from her dizziness. She can be difficult to see by sheer virtue of her size; it is hard for the player to see where she is in relation to her foes. Because her attacks have so much knockback, she can make life harder for your teammates, whose intended target is suddenly halfway across the room. Lastly -- and this may be just a misperception since she's so small -- her health seems low.

Playing Tips
- Wasp always enjoys being in a crowd. Jump in and enjoy the sight of her tearing through her enemies.
- Her P1 and 2 are useful for large foes (her P1 will stun Mystique in transformed mode), but her P3 seems the most useful, largely because it can get Wasp out of trouble
- Use caution around large enemies with knockdown; they can squish a Wasp but good.
