NOTICE ABOUT CRISIS MISSIONS
Crisis Missions are extremely hard and very lengthy. They're not something you do casually. If you're doing a Crisis Mission with the intention of trying for Adamantium, so you can get the Cubes as a reward, we heavily advise using a team of Guardian (for his P2, Battle Plan Alpha), White or regular Phoenix (for her P2, Healing Flames), Future Foundation Dr Doom or Ends of the Earth Spider-man for their powerful Hero Ups, and either Avenging or Classic Wolverine, since they can heal themself. Use Phoenix and Guardian to keep everyone's defense up and healed, do the heavy damage with EOTE or Doom, and use Wolvie as a self-healing shield to draw the enemies so the others can heal up with fruit.
Stage 1 starts right off the bat by throwing a handful of Mini-MODOKS at you, alongside Shadowcat, Nightcrawler, and Wolverine. Concentrate on Wolverine and Shadowcat first... we've not seen her do the screenflip glitch in here, but that doesn't mean she can't. As soon as the gate opens, you'll encounter a wave of AIM Agents. Take this opportunity to grab fruit, heal, and refresh your shields, because there are more X-Clones waiting after them, in the form of Emma Frost, Astonishing Cyclops, and Colossus. Emma and Colossus are the first ones to get here, since Colossus' spin attack is devastating, and Emma can turn you against each other. |
Often thought of as the most easy of the Crisis Missions, getting to Mystique is a long and hard road, best accomplished by a full and prepared team. This is a 25-30 minute Mission, so don't try to knock it out fast either.
The heroes you encounter in here are just like the ones you play. Same powers, same health, same defense, and they will all respawn twice more after you beat them once. The Mini-MODOKS and AIM Agents you encounter inbetween hero encounters are primarily there to give you power stars and fruit, since it's the heroes that will wear you down. After the truck moves, it's more Minis and Agents, and you think it's gonna be an easy spot... until they're all destroyed. Beast, Iceman, and Angel show up to rock your world. Angel can heal himself, and Iceman has some pretty good attacks, so prioritizes on those two first. The next area is like this as well; Agents and Minis, then the hero clones show up, Storm, Gambit, and Rogue this time. Gambit has an excellent combo, and Rogue packs a punch, so make them your target this time. After the truck moves it's just Minis and Agents, and after they're all gone, it's on to the Stage End area. KO the AIMS and Minis, and then face the wrath of Cable, Hope Summers, and Deadpool. Hope and Cable are very similar, so take them out first, if you can. |
Next, we have Mini-MODOKS. Jump up a level, AIM Agents, then in the same spot, Vision, Ms Marvel, and Hawkeye. Save Hawkeye for last; he's the least protected, and will be the easiest. The next area contains a pack of Minis and a couple of the big blue Crushbots. They love to knock you down, so try to keep out of arms length in front of them. They will respawn once, before being replaced by Black Panther, Spider-Woman, and Captain America. Though annoying, save Panther for last, since he has a tendency to spam his stealth, and that doesn't affect your characters at all.
The next area is the Stage end area, and has a bit of it all. AIM Agents, Crushbots, and Mini-MODOKS fill the area, and will respawn at least once as you take them out. Once they're gone, the real fun starts as Sentry, Red Hulk, and Red She-Hulk show up. Remember, the Hulks can heal, and all 3 pack a punch. Take out the Hulks one at a time to keep them from healing up, then concentrate on Sentry. |
Stage 2 takes you inside the Villainville Factory, and adds Crushbots into the mix. After the initial wave of AIM Agents, Mini-MODOKS, and shiny-new Crushbots, it's the Avengers turn to come out and play, starting with Reptil, Thor, and Tigra. Focus on the thunder god and Tigra first, since their attacks pack a punch.
Rinse and repeat in the next area, with your attackers this time being Iron Man, Giant-Man, and Wasp. Believe it or not, make Wasp a priority target... her HU, so devastating when she's your hero, is equally damaging against you. Wasp and Iron Man need to go down fast. Mystique was always a fun kind of ick as a boss. She can shapeshift into a plethora of characters, loves for it to be a member of the party more than anything else, has no minions to bump your star count or give you fruit, and has only 4 boost containers in the area with her. Add that into her respawning, so now you have to fight her three times... yay, superfun!
If you've followed the character recommendation we gave, she'll tend to shift into the Wolverine in your party, Means she can heal, but she also is pretty forward with her attacks. Without Wolverine, she'll stick to her prearranged characters, which could be just about anyone. Some of the ones seen are Punisher, Black Suit Spider-Man, Invisible Woman, Silver Surfer, Valkyrie. It's possible that for Crisis, she really can be anyone. And don't be confused if a second meter shows up next to her health meter with the picture of a party member she's mimicking in it. This is common, and not a problem. The two health meters seem to go down the same. |
Attacks and Cues
When she says "I Can Be Anyone..." - She's about to shapeshift.
When she says "Watch Yourself" - She's about to hit you with her gun.
Playing Tips
- All enemies respawn in here multiple times, including the hero clones and Mystique.
- Mystique only targets one person to attack at time. So, definitely fight her with a party, and while she's beating on your teammate, take your opportunity to attack!
- She takes more damage in her own form then when she's shifted, and she also moves less. She takes no damage when she's shifting between forms.
- Highly advised not to bring Daredevil in any party to fight her. She likes to mimic him, and he is tough to beat. You really don't want to do it x3.
- She seems to be easier to beat the second and third time.
