The Card Game
The SHSO Card Game is one of those things you either love or hate. A necessary evil to get through your Challenges, many people never use it beyond then, and that's a shame. They feel it's all luck and everything is stacked against them, but it takes skill too, and there is a lot of fun in collecting all the cards, constructing fantastic decks, and using them to demolish friends and strangers alike. And since the Hub team has frequent card tournaments, it's worth learning for the potential winnings, if the fun factor doesn't lure you in.
Below, resident card guru STG has constructed some ideal decks to get people started, along with instructions on how to use them. Give them a shot, or use the templates to build your own decks with those ideas. Who knows.. you might find your card loathing switching over to obsession.

Rarity [**---] Speed [***--] x2 Thunderbolt x4 Avengers Assemble! x4 Tiny Avenger x4 Spring Into Action x4 Unstoppable Avengers x2 Itsy-Bitsy Teensy-Weensy x1 Hurl The Shield x3 Sky Strike x4 Earth's Mightiest Heroes x2 Group Hug x2 Deflection x1 Star Spangled Soldier x2 Iron Gardener x2 Drop The Hulk Bomb x2 These Colors Don't Run x1 Comin Right At Ya This is a very simple Avengers deck that is a great choice for new players. Our gameplan is pretty straightforward, and it isn't too difficult to get ahold of most of these cards. Some of the more rare cards are easily replaced, so don't worry if you don't have Thunderbolt or These Colors Don't Run.
In this Avengers deck, we want to get early keepers into play to make our higher leveled attacks hit even harder later on. Unstoppable Avengers and Avengers Assemble! are key cards to accomplish this. The deck also has many supporting early game cards to really put pressure on your opponent. One of the great things about this deck is that because we attack with so many different factors, our opponents are always kept on their feet when it comes down to saving their blocks. Take advantage of being unpredictable with this deck! Should the early game plan have gone well, we now start to throw out haymaker attacks for big damage. Our cards scale with the current power really well, so we are almost always attacking for big damage when the game comes down to the wire. This deck also gets extra support from Earth's Mightiest Heroes and Iron Gardener, letting us chip away at the opponent for some nice extra damage. When your opponent is really against the ropes, play with your team up attacks like Drop the Hulk Bomb and Comin Right At Ya to finish them off. There are many great and easy to obtain Avengers cards to make this happen, so this deck is highly recommended for new players. |

Rarity [***---] Speed [****-] x4 Soul of Wakanda x4 Spring Into Action x4 King and Queen x3 Anti-Metal Claws x4 Pounce of the Jungle Cat x2 Lightning Bolt x4 Panther in the Mist x3 Ta-Da! x3 You Can't Outrun Lightning x3 Fly Girls x3 Chain Lightning x3 Lay Down the Law Black Panther and Storm make a great team. They hit hard, fast, and even deal significant unpreventable damage. If you like making explosive combos and taking out half of the enemy deck in one turn then this one is for you. It is also a great choice for newer players who have learned the game and want to quickly transition into a very powerful deck.
Combos are the name of the game with this one. We want to setup the board for the big hit. To accomplish this, we're going to play our keepers that trigger when enough damage is dealt. What makes this deck so explosive is that most of these cards are animal factor (red). This makes the combo very difficult to block, especially if your opponent is on the unlucky side of things. If your opponent is trying to destroy your keepers to slow you down, it's fine to block them as long as you can always keep a Black Panther card in hand. Never use Panther in the Mist to block an attack unless it's absolutely critical that you stop their card. It usually isn't worth it, but I'll leave you to decide ultimately. Once we've got our keepers in place, we play Panther in the Mist and watch the cards fly. We also have team up attacks and Chain Lightning as a backup plan to push through extra damage and finish off the opponent. If you have King and Queen in play, you'll also see some cool synergy as you heal cards from your keepers when they blow up and deal damage. This deck is a blast to play and very strong. It isn't too difficult to build and play, either. |

Rarity [****-] Speed [*-----] x4 Hungry for Battle x4 Turn Up the Heat x3 Cold Fusion x4 Invisible Squeeze x3 Power Lifting x1 Stop, Drop, and Roll x2 Perfect Solution x3 Quick Save x1 Invisiboulder x3 Fist? Meet Face x3 Blazing Intellect x2 Nova Flame x4 Fantastic Force Fantastic Four decks can be a little tricky to build and play. There are many different styles of a powerful Fantastic Four deck, and this one revolves around keepers. As a note, this version of the deck requires a high amount of rares to play so it is recommended for advanced players only. However, it is very possibly to heavily modify this list and still get similar results. Let's talk about it.
This deck, much like almost every other Fantastic Four deck, wants to play Fantastic Force as fast as possible and as many times as possible. And for as much damage as possible, too. Keepers are very important in this deck! They give us many ways to increase our power and accomplish this. They also give us an additional big threat with Fist? Meet Face. You want to play as many keepers as you can early on. You'll very likely fall behind during the early turns with this deck, but don't panic. Make sure you hang on to key blocks and only sacrifice Fantasitc Force or Fist? Meet Face if you absolutely have to. Use Quick Save when you have a block you definitely need on top of your discard pile. Survival is the key to victory with this deck, you will do significantly more damage than your opponent as the game goes further along! Fist? Meet Face is very powerful even with only two keepers in play. You should definitely consider playing it even if you only have one keeper at the time, as it's important to clear the way of green blocks for your Fantastic Force later on. Remember that Cold Fusion is NOT a Fantasic Four card! It is there to allow you to play your big cards faster, so that you don't get knocked out before the plan comes together. This deck can be difficult to build, and even tougher to play. But it's very rewarding and fun to make big comebacks and leave your opponent wondering what just happened! |

Rarity [*****] Speed [***--] x1 Tiger Strike x3 Delusions of Grandeur x3 Sudden Ambush x4 Brotherhood of Mutants x3 Captive Audience x3 Jailbreak! x4 Try the Hero Special x3 Bowled Over x4 Bull in a China Soup x1 Shapechange x2 Armored Tank x2 Morph and Strike x2 Puny Weaklings! x1 Unstoppable Juggernaut x2 We Never Miss x1 Invincible Brotherhood x1 Playing With the Big Boys For the players who want to be villains, the Brotherhood is a fun choice. Because these cards are only available from Villain's Fury, be prepared to spend a lot of gold to put a villain deck together. If you plan on being a serious card player, it's very recommended to go ahead and do so. Some of these cards, not only Brotherhood, are incredibly powerful even when paired together with heroes.
In this deck we want to chain together cards for big damage. Unlike many hero decks that chain together cards, the Brotherhood don't need keepers to do so. Their cards also tend to have higher attack value than many of the hero cards, too. For our early game, we really want to get Brotherhood of Mutants into play as fast as possible. This will allow us to get our combos off even faster and quickly shred our opponent before they can get going. Pretty typical of Sabertooth and Mystique, isn't it? There are many opportunities for explosive turns here. Sudden Ambush and Morph and Strike will set up big plays and hit very hard. An advantage to our chain deck is that we are playing many different factors. That makes it difficult for opponents to shut down our combo, and most of our other attacks too. Bull in a China Shop lets us deal considerable extra damage and is very easily triggered with our team up attacks and unblockable cards. As the power level grows, so does the power in our deck. There will be times where you are holding two to three cards that allow you to chain together attacks. Now, imagine doing so and finishing off your combo with a big team up attack like We Never Miss! Playing With the Big Boys is the top dog in this deck. Usually when you get to play this card, if it deals the full amount of damage you will most likely win that game during the same turn or the next one. A great merit to this deck is that it also gives us keeper destruction, and attacks that punish your opponent such as Shapechange and Puny Weaklings! This deck has many answers to popular decks allowing to punish them while doing considerable damage. The Brotherhood is an exciting deck to play for card players who want to fully explore the potential in villain decks and chaining together attacks. There are many different powerful cards that be played in this deck to great success. I highly recommend this one for it's flexibility and "wow" factor. Unfortunately, it costs a considerable amount of gold to build this one or any other villain deck. It wasn't such a problem before mystery boxes were released, and gold was plentiful, but I can assure you that these cards are worth their investment if you enjoy the card game. |
