Stage 1 is pretty simple, hit and move on. You'll find small clusters of the bots and the AIM agents, nothing big, and continuous waves of annoying mini-MODOKS. The end of the stage is a small grouping of AIM agents, and seems really simple.. at first. Until wave after wave after wave of mini-MODOKS swarm in like bees in a hive. And with MODOK driving Abomination around in the thick of it, it's easy to miss where your character is standing and get knocked around a bit. |
The Abomiation Mission is a mismatch of mini-MODOKS, Crushbots, and AIM Soldiers throughout the streets of Villainville, with Abomination himself, swinging through while hanging onto MODOK, to knock you out of the way as you fight your way to the Villainville sewers where he makes his home. You'll hope fences and dodge trucks, and most of it's not too hard, as long as you steer clear of Abomination's hanging feet. He'll knock your out of the way and do some damage at the same time. |
The boss battle is a large circular chamber filled with green water and a couple of floating rubber duckies. The duckies are throwable, so feel free to toss them at Abomination's head.
Abomiation is the only enemy in here, but that doesn't mean he's a slouch. His major attack is a charge that sends him across the arena, and if you're in his way, you're getting some serious hurt, plus knocked back. After he finally hits something to stop, he's stunned for a few moments, and that's the best time to hit him, if your hero is a melee. Just keep an eye on his recovery. |
Stage 2 takes place in the sewer, and you'll face most of the same enemies. Watch for the blue crushbots, which can knock you back. And when you enter the larger areas, that's when MODOK and Abomination will show up to kick you over. The end of Stage 2 consists of 4 large blue crushbots, a good handful of AIM agents, and a scattering of mini-MODOKS, with Abominations big feet swooping through. But just before you get here, you'll encounter one of the mega-boots barrels. A well placed Hero-Up or two can take care of all of this before they ever get the chance to hit you. |
Attacks and Cues
When he says "Here I Come." - Charge attack. Sidestep to get out of his path, then chase him down to take advantage of him being stunned.
When he shifts his shoulders in while standing still - He roars, causing an AOE damage around him.
When you see a butterfly appear in front of him - He claps his hands together to try and catch it, doing a lot of damage to anyone caught in the sweep.
When he turns around and lifts his leg - He's going to fart on anyone standing right behind where he is now.
Playing Tips
- Always watch for MODOK and Abomiation to sweep through in the first two stages. It's horribly annoying to get knocked back away from what you were doing and end up across the screen.
- Melee characters have it tougher in the boss here. You have to hit when he's stunned, and dart away as soon as it wears off. Much easier to stick with ranged characters, since then he usually does his Charge attack, which is easily dodged.
